OUR PROMISE TO YOU...
GREAT SOLUTIONS :
Our fire safety reports are written for building consent applications for new buildings and are based to the C/AS Acceptable Solutions. These Acceptable Solutions provide a robust fire safety design solution in many cases and can be incorporated to work well with the design features of many new buildings. Our aim is to do this for you.
However there are circumstances where the Acceptable Solutions do not offer the best available fire safety results for a building. If we believe this to be the case for your project, we will let you know when you contact us for a quote. In these situations we recommend that you engage the services of a suitably qualified fire engineer to investigate the use of an Alternative Solution for your project. We promise to let you know if we think you will get a better result by going elsewhere.
NO SURPRISES :
We dont want our clients getting nasty surprises because we have failed to communicate well with them. Our promise to you is that we will let you know about any change as soon as we become aware of it. This means that we will notify you immediately if any fire safety feature that you were not made aware of in our preliminary assessment of your project, later becomes necessary.
Our fee quote is to complete your fire safety design for building consent application purposes. Unless design changes are made that make our job more difficult the fee will not change. If we believe the fire safety design has become more complicated, due to design changes, we will provide a revised quote for approval before proceeding. As our reports are written to obtain building consent our fee covers any reasonable request from your Building Consent Authority for additional information. We do not charge extra to answer their questions.
DELIVERED ON TIME :
When we provide you with your free, no obligation, quote, we will also provide you with an estimate of the time it will take us to deliver your completed fire safety report. Our aim is whenever possible to deliver within the time constraints you are working to. This is why we give you the opportunity to stipulate a desired delivery deadline when you contact us for a quote.
Should you choose to accept our fee quote we will then give you a confirmed delivery date for your fire safety report. Whenever possible this will be the same as the timeframe indicated on the quote. However we may need to adjust the confirmed delivery date if there has been a delay between when we presented our quote and when we received acceptance of the quote. The great news is that, provided we are not held up requiring additional information from you or the job is complicated by design changes, then we promise to deliver on or even before the confirmed delivery date. If we don't deliver to the agreed timeframe we will give you a 10% discount on the quoted fee.

THINGS OUR FIRE SAFETY DESIGNS DO NOT INCLUDE:
1. WE DO NOT DO FIRE REPORTS FOR ADDITIONS, ALTERATIONS, OR CHANGES OF USE TO BUILDINGS
2. OUR FIRE REPORTS ARE NOT A FIRE SERVICE APPROVED EVACUATIONS PLAN FOR YOUR BUILDING
3. OUR FIRE REPORTS ARE NOT DESIGNS & SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF FIRE SAFETY SYSTEMS
4. OUR FIRE REPORTS DO NOT COVER THE USE OR STORAGE OF HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES IN YOUR BUILDING
5. OUR FIRE REPORTS DO NOT COVER OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH IN YOUR BUILDING
6. OUR FIRE REPORTS DO NOT COVER THE LOSS OF BUILDING OWNERS PROPERTY
It is difficult to accurately assess the current fire safety requirements within an existing building without visitng the building. We are not able to make site visits and have therefore decided it would be unwise for us to undertake this type of design work, unless your project is located in the Northland region of New Zealand.
Many building owners have a legal responsibility to develop an evacuation plan for their building and to get it approved by the New Zealand Fire Service. Our fire reports will be valuable in assisting you in developing a plan. We suggest you engage a specialist from your local area that can assist you or use the excellent information the Fire Service offer at their website.
We are not specialist services engineers or installers of fire safety systems. You need to engage someone with appropriate qualifications in this field to assist you with the installation design of systems. They will also be able to assist you in setting up an appropriate Compliance Schedule for the systems that are to be installed.
Compliance with the Hazardous Substances & Noxious Organisms Act is a specialised field that is not directly covered by the fire safety requirements of the Building Act. If there are to be dangerous goods used or stored on site you should seek the advice of a suitably qualified person to ensure compliance is met.
Compliance with the Health & Safety in Employment Act is a specialised field that is not directly covered by the fire safety requirements of the Building Act. Employers and building owners should seek the advice of a suitably qualified person to ensure compliance is met.
The C/AS Acceptable Solutions are primarly concerned with safeguarding people from injury or illness caused by a fire. This is achieved through measures to protect life safety within the building, limit spread of fire to adjacent buildings, and ensure safety for fire fighting personnel. There is no statutory requirement to protect directly against the loss of the owners property. If the owner has specific requirements to protect against loss of their own property in the event of fire this should be clearly noted when a quote for our design services is requested.
